![]() ![]() I am looking forward to a less running week this Thanksgiving. Since, I am hosting Thanksgiving, I have begun preparing make-ahead meals and freezing them. Thursday 20 miles …body wasn’t ready to play but the mind said DO IT! Marathon training is a Mental Game! I am happy to report, my body is adjusting well to the rigorous training. This week prior to Thanksgiving, I completed my first Dopey Simulation, running 4 consecutive days with mileage of 3, 4, 10, and finally 20 miles. My weeks have been altering from higher and lower mileage. It is a Run Disney event that takes place during marathon weekend at Walt Disney World in January It consists of 4 days of races, starting with a 5k on Thursday, 10k on Friday, a half marathon on Saturday and ending with a full marathon on Sunday for a total of 48.6 miles. The humor is weird but often brilliant - one particularly strange episode reimagines the Scooby gang as a bunch of drug-addled fiends - but what truly stands out about the show is how it has built a vast world full of recurring, oddball characters whose relationships evolve over time.As I mentioned in a previous blog, I am training for the Dopey Challenge. Now the owner of his father’s company, the show follows Rusty, his two sons Hank (Christopher McCulloch) and Dean (Michael Sinterniklaas), and their bodyguard, secret agent/bulky murder machine Brock Samson (Patrick Warburton), through various adventures and schemes, flitting through various genres and story structures. Rusty Venture (James Urbaniak), a once-famous boy adventurer who fizzled out, growing up to become a failed scientist. 48.6 magical miles through 4 Disney World parks over 4 days. I set my sights on this goal back in 2018 and just over 2 weeks ago, I crossed 4 finish lines: a 5K, 10K, half marathon and full marathon. After training for months, I completed the 2020 runDisney Dopey Challenge. Originally built as a parody of ‘60s adventure shows like Jonny Quest, The Venture Bros. 2020 runDisney Dopey Challenge Recap Part 1. is a hilarious, occasionally depressing exploration of failure and legacies, set in a world full of colorful characters. Adult Swim’s long-running (the series has been airing off and on since 2003) dark comedy The Venture Bros. ![]()
